Set up a passkey
To sign in with a fingerprint, your face or a device PIN from now on, set up a passkey. You then need neither a password nor the detour via email.
Prerequisites
- You are signed in, e.g. via a sign-in link or the link from your invitation.
- A device with fingerprint, face recognition or a device PIN, e.g. a laptop or smartphone.
Steps
- At the bottom of the sidebar, select your name and then Security.
- In the section Passkeys, select Add passkey.
- Under Name, enter a name, e.g.
Work laptop. - Select Create passkey.
- Confirm on your device with fingerprint, face or PIN.
Warning
An account without a password does not receive a password link. You can set a new password only while signed in, on the Security page, with Set.
- If your account has a password, in the section Sign-in methods select Remove in the row Password, and confirm with Remove password.
Result
The passkey appears in the list with its name and “since {date}”. On the sign-in page you now sign in with Sign in with a passkey.
